The Error 0x8007007b occurs when Windows tries to activate itself automatically over the internet. Whenever Windows will attempt to activate itself, an error window will appear on your desktop.
Step 1 – Run command prompt as an administrator
In order to troubleshoot this error, go to the start menu and from there, right click on the Command Prompt and select the “Run as administrator” option.
Step 2 – Type the command slmgr –ipk
As a result, the command prompt window will open up. In the command prompt, type the command slmgr -ipk followed by the 25 digit alpha numeric windows product key before you hit the enter key. Make sure that the product key that you enter is separated by dashes and is a valid one.
Step 3 – Installed product key will remove the error
After a few seconds, the Windows Host Script popup will appear and will inform you that the product key was successfully installed and activated. Click on the Ok button and you will never see the blue screen of death stop Error 0x8007007b again.
