Step # 1 – Accessing Chat
First, go to Facebook at “www.facebook.com.” Make sure you are logged into your account, and then open up your chat by clicking on the “Chat” option in the lower right-hand corner of your Facebook page.
Step # 2 – Some Smileys You Can Use
Next, choose the friend you would like to chat with, and then start typing your chat into the bottom section of the chat box. When you want to enter an emoticon or animal, type or paste the code for the emoticon directly into the chat box. For example, for an emoticon with sunglasses, type “8)”; for an emoticon sticking its tongue out, type “:p”; and for a penguin emoticon type: “<(")”.
