How to Change WordPress Admin Login



One of the security threats to WordPress blog is an account being hacked. WordPress blog is setup with a default admin account, and hence anyone who is trying to hack the blog will surely try the username “admin” for the first time. This is a major security risk and your account is vulnerable to multiple threats. Therefore, the WordPress admin login must be changed to a different username with a strong password.In this tutorial, we will learn to change WordPress admin login.
Step 1 : Go to “Users” Tab
In order to change admin login, sign into the administrative dashboard of the wordpress account. The dashboard panel is located at the right side of the screen. Locate the “Users” option from the menu. Click on it.

Step 2: Add a new user
After Clicking the “Users” option, a list of all the users will be displayed who can access the blog. Click on the “Add new” button, situated at the top of the page besides the “Users” heading. The Add new user page requires certain information that is, a new “user name”, “first name”, “last name”, “password”, “email ID” and the “user role”. Fill in the necessary information and set the user role to “Admin”.Click on the “Add New User” button to save the recent changes.

Step 3: Delete the default admin account
A new user account has been made which is the admin of the blog. We can delete the existing admin account now to mitigate the security risks. Before we confirm the deletion, we have to grant the rights of our previous posts to any other account.With that done, we can sign in into our WordPress blog as an admin using the new “username” and “password”.
